This is the way to listen to music on a bike.
It's a piece of 6-inch drain pipe with a pair of speakers mounted in the ends. The system is attached to a standard rear rack using a simple yet robust mounting technique.
The whole thing weighs just eight pounds and it's LOUD. A fifteen watt per channel Class D stereo amplifier drives a pair of Kenwood marine speakers to provide plenty of clean sound. The system is loud enough to listen to in busy traffic.
An MP3 player is attached to the top tube with a standard bike mounting bracket for easy access. The system will work with any brand of MP3 player.
An internal lithium-ion battery pack provides over four hours of listening time at full volume, and over 10 hours at reduced volume. A USB charging port is provided to keep your MP3 player charged up during long events. An optional solar panel provides unending power for a camping trip or a week at Burning Man.
Don't forget to watch the road when choosing a song!
